JEE Main answer key

NTA publishes a provisional key first, opens a paid challenge window, then publishes a final key with the result. Only the final key decides your score — and it does sometimes differ from the provisional one.

NTA has not announced answer key dates for JEE Main 2027 yet. It is published with the Information Bulletin, expected around October–November 2026. Everything below is the confirmed 2026 position plus the pattern NTA has followed — useful for planning, but not a substitute for the official notification. We will update this page the day it lands.

How the process runs

    Provisional key and your responses

    A few days after the session, NTA displays the question paper you attempted, your recorded responses, and the provisional answer key.

    Challenge window

    You may object to any answer through the portal for a non-refundable ₹200 per question. Objections need supporting justification, not just disagreement.

  3. 3

    Expert review

    Subject experts examine every challenge. A successful challenge changes the key for everyone — questions can be dropped, or a second option accepted.

  4. 4

    Final key and result

    The final key is published and results are computed from it. In 2026, Session 1 results came by 12 February and Session 2 by 20 April.

Scoring yourself from the key

Marking is +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one, with no penalty for leaving a question unattempted. A dropped question awards full marks to everyone who attempted the paper.
