JEE Main 2027 application form

The application is filled online at jeemain.nta.nic.in, and only there. NTA charges no agent, accepts no offline form, and does not authorise any third-party site to collect your application.

NTA has not announced the application dates or fee for JEE Main 2027 yet. It is published with the Information Bulletin, expected around October–November 2026. Everything below is the confirmed 2026 position plus the pattern NTA has followed — useful for planning, but not a substitute for the official notification. We will update this page the day it lands.

How to apply, step by step

  1. 1

    Register

Create an account on jeemain.nta.nic.in with a working email and mobile number. Both are used for every later communication — use ones you will still have access to in April.

  2. 2

    Fill the application

Personal details, class XII details, category, and your choice of exam cities. City choice is restricted to states matching your present and permanent address.

  3. 3

    Upload documents

A recent photograph and your signature, to NTA's exact size and format specification. Most rejections at this stage are size or format errors, not content.

  4. 4

    Pay the fee

Online only — credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. Your form is not submitted until payment succeeds.

  5. 5

    Download the confirmation page

Save and print it. Keep it until admission is complete; it is the proof your application went through.

Application fee

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), for centres in India, as charged in 2026.

CategoryMaleFemale
General₹1,000₹800
Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL₹900₹800
SC / ST / PwD / PwBD₹500₹500
Third gender₹500₹500

Centres outside India cost considerably more — ₹5,000 for General male candidates in 2026. Taking Paper 1 and Paper 2 together costs more again. Full table in the official bulletin.

Mistakes that cost people the exam

  • Paying at the last hour. The payment gateway is busiest on the final day and a failed transaction after the deadline cannot be retried.
  • Using a parent's phone number you will lose access to. Every notification, from city slip to result, goes to the number on the form.
  • Category certificates in the wrong format. EWS and OBC-NCL certificates must be in the current prescribed format and validity period. Get them reissued before you apply, not during counselling.
  • Assuming Session 1 registration covers Session 2. It does not — Session 2 is a separate application.
